What do I
want to be when I grow up? This childhood question is now being considered by
people from fifteen to fifty. The number of jobs available is not the main
problem. The difficulties come from two areas: first, the vocational
possibilities are rapidly changing. Second, many of us are considering our
second or even third career because our original choice is becoming obsolete, or
makes demands upon us that we could not have anticipated, or is losing prestige,
or no longer pays well enough, or has become so mechanized as to bore us to
automated tears. In short, we want more.
This report
describes your vocational aptitudes from the astrological perspective so that
they can be matched in the career marketplace. While the jobs themselves are
ever-changing, personality is founded on a solid base upon which to pivot.
Self-understanding can supply the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual
clues to your best line of work. Then you can determine how to apply your
strongest capabilities to the career field you find most attractive.
The best
career is one that allows you to use your natural talents and skills.
Astrologers use a number of considerations to determine the energies that are
strongest and most beneficial in your chart, identifying the type of activities
that will be most likely to achieve career success. Sometimes your latent
abilities will require training to develop into appropriate occupational skills.
Also, you may have talents that serve your avocation - your hobby - better than
your career. In this report we will consider a number of possibilities so you
can get a sense of which talents are most beneficial in terms of career, and how
to develop and use them.
Your Ascendant or Rising Sign
Let's begin
with a description of your Ascendant or rising sign. Here you find your natural
expression in the world - the way you present yourself to the world and the way
others see you.
You enjoy
the everyday nature of your work and would thrive in a retail sales atmosphere
or food service because of the foundation of daily routine from which
interesting changes can emerge. You can develop a felt sense for the cycles of
businesses like these, and thus are able to predict trends and manage inventory.
You like being around large numbers of people. You can be moody, as you feel the
emotional currents around you. At the same time, it is this sensitivity that
gives you a certain magnetic charm. You always seem to get the lay of the land
early in the game, and that gives you an edge. You would also do well in
fishing, sea-going industries or nurturing careers. Water is your element. You
understand the currents and eddies of all life and can get the most from it by
following the flow. This is just as true of gathering your nets as it is of
guiding the path of others. You may incorporate music into your work. Here again
is an endeavor in which an understanding of the flow of the medium is demanded.
Even if you are not the musician, you have an appreciation of the importance of
sound and can apply it to your particular career.
Now take
these initial impressions forward with you as you read the rest of this report.
You will come to see if and how these general characteristics fit into the
overall picture of your vocational possibilities. As you read, you may find
apparent contradictions. This happens because we are complex beings with many
interests and abilities. This report
presents some of your many choices along the path to vocational success and
satisfaction.
Human
creativity falls into three principal arenas: creation (the making of things),
recreation (the entertaining side of life), and procreation (the creation of the
future). Everyone actively engages in all three creative processes, and we often
confuse the feelings of one for another. The term "recreational sex"
captures the sense of confusion. Some of us work really hard to get "good
sex". Some of us feel sex serves only one purpose, that of procreation.
Some of us find the deepest spiritual meaning of life in sexual union. To
confuse such deeply meaningful matters with mere recreation can be a problem. In
terms of career, creativity plays a big role, but typically sexual involvement
in the workplace only serves to establish barriers to the free flow of ideas. To
gain better understanding of the inner creative urge in its multiplicity of
expression is to gain a leg up on the career issues that can lead us to money
and fame without also finding inner satisfaction in the work itself.
You are
often at your creative best when others cannot see anywhere to go. You have a
somewhat ruthless ability to hang on and survive, and in fact you thrive on
crises. You understand the cycle of birth and death, and can see past the end of
a cycle. Your creative work demands steady attention to achieve a complete
transformation. Your greatest pleasure is found in work that achieves the birth
of something new and wonderful out of something old and dead. Your feelings are
always an integral part of your creative process.
You may find
that at some point your creative focus is modified to include a somewhat
different mode of expression that has the following characteristics:
Creativity
for you involves the spiritual side of life. You find pleasure in being inspired
and in inspiring others to fulfill their greatest potential. Yours is a quiet
creativity, immersed in thought. You seek to blend your experience of the
physical world, your educational process and your intuition into a creative
admixture where nature and art co-mingle to produce something spiritually
pleasing. You are the individual who can see beyond the initial idea, through
the building process, and yes, past the completion of a project. You are able to
envision the effect of your work on the world and to transform creative energy
into a spiritual tool.
Many people
find that the creative urge seeks to apply itself in a particular area of life
that may have very little to do with career. By the same token, the creative
voice can dictate the path of vocation, if it is either strong enough or
consistent with the overall vocational choices. It helps to understand what part
of the creative process most pleases you, what feelings and activities you
consider to be most creative.
You bring
diligence and orderly procedures to your creative work, giving it a logical
balance. You are capable of being overly critical, and you recognize that
quality in others. Your methodical approach solves many problems without undue
stress.
It also
helps to be aware of how you can use your creativity to the best advantage.
Your
creativity works best in areas where communication flows freely. Thus any career
that involves travel, computers, or any form of communication will appeal to
you. You can manage two or three projects at one time.
Who do you
most like to play with when you are being creative? You may think this an odd
question where career is concerned, but it strikes at the heart of the career
game. If you surround yourself with people who share your creative interests,
you will fulfill your inner urge more directly and completely. Just as children
work hard at their games, you can play hard at work and thus enjoy this part of
your life that takes up the bulk of your waking hours.
Awareness
is a creative process. Your awareness allows creativity to emerge and each
creative act inspires greater awareness. You are enthusiastic in all activities,
but should be certain of the direction of your passions. Special projects can
draw on your psychic power and can feel magically delightful. Your creative
imagination takes you through the veil of reality into another world, populated
with artists, movie stars, detectives and spiritual counselors. You are able to
take ideas and manifest them in the material world for others to see. You enjoy
being around people who can let their imaginations emerge in their work, like
illustrators, writers and occult practitioners. Hospital and pharmacy employees,
opticians or anyone who changes our perceptions of the world are interesting as
well.
There
are currents in your subconscious that push you to evolve into the best you can
possibly be. Match these urges with your keen sense of the world, and you may
find that your work comes close to measuring up to your ideals. Upheavals in
your life are the stuff of greatness, as you can see past the moment to the
future, and thereby guide your actions. Imagination and emotion can be powerful
career tools. You may be a natural healer.
You can
develop a sense of the importance of creativity to your work, and also what
factors affect your creative expression, by considering how you seek creative
interplay with others and with the world.
You take a
practical, common sense approach to cyclical changes in your life. You can use
this approach in business situations by maintaining a sense of your objectives.
If you experience a lack of clarity in the midst of changes, you can balance
nervousness with physical activity. Your
inner sense of beauty can become a source of tension when you find yourself in
excessively indulgent situations. When you are attracted to another individual,
use your own physical and mental tension to attract them.
You find that you have the energy to work with diverse situations and
take advantage of whatever opportunities come your way.
Blessed with good health and generally destined for success, you are able
to control expansion in your life by choosing your direction consciously.
Major changes in your life are the result of difficult struggles and
delicate health. You tend to attract serious people into your life.
Striving for power can cause stress in your life. You will experience
remarkable advancement, as well as dramatic health changes, both for the better
and for the worse. Stress can make you difficult to deal with, and power plays
can throw you off balance.
The typical
results of your creative forays have the following characteristics:
You are
often aware of subconscious feelings and thoughts which are not evident to
others. This comes through in your awareness of situations which arise in your
environment. You often know information about your surroundings and about people
which surprises you. You suffer from
a periodic lack of energy and are susceptible to infections. You have an innate
sense of timing. You are inspired to acts of devotion. Avoid unnecessary use of
drugs. You are methodical in your
work, planning carefully and working very hard. Do not allow your inner tension
or inhibition to create a foundation for illness.
You have the potential for developing your psychic gifts. While you
sometimes experience confused psychic states, you can achieve spiritual
enlightenment. You are a highly
sensitive person and can develop your psychic gifts steadily throughout your
life. You are aware of events before they occur.
You have a
heightened emotional life which is directed into specific areas of your life.
You pursue your goals with almost fanatical zest and must be careful to consider
other people in your excitement. The
exertion of power in love relationships can be intensely satisfying. It can also
bring about the end of valued relationships. You are artistically gifted.
You live for the dare, constantly active, sometimes falling
precipitously.
Current
shifts in your creative pattern may be indications of a refinement of your
activities to suit the daemon or inner voice. Your awareness of that voice is
subject to changes that can have sweeping effects on your career path.
Recent Influences
Your
emotional eagerness can cause you to tax your physical system at this time.
Don't gamble
right now, as you tend to experience losses or the fall out from your
ill-advised personal actions. You tend to deceive yourself and others, and to be
deceived. You feel numb.
Current and Future Trends for the Coming Year
Drastic
changes can occur at this time. Disputes or quarrels can occur.
The
challenge just now, and for some time to come, is to manage your own power
wisely.
Creativity and Career
You may be
wondering how creativity affects your career. Perhaps you don't feel that the
work you do is very creative, or perhaps you have creative pursuits that are not
part of how you earn money. Creativity is the expression of an ideal that we
each find within ourselves. We each have a unique inner essence that deserves to
be polished and re-fined in our individual ways. This essence can be expressed
through vocation, and indeed it is a force that pushes us toward the most
fulfilling career fields. Many factors combine to produce the best vocational
choice. Multiple abilities may combine in a profession not usually associated
with the individual qualities you possess.
Where You Have the Best Advantage
In the world
of vocation certain energies work to your best advantage.
You
experience the impulse to be, and you require no noticeable substance to enjoy
the inspiration. First you identify
the descent of spiritual energy into the creative part of your mind.
New potentialities emerge. Second,
you become involved with the creative force of authority that emerges directly
from your thoughts. Later you will
have the inner authority to merge thought and action as you move toward creative
expression. The creative healing
force of heat is the third aspect of the impulse to be.
And finally there is the creative ability to look into the future and to
pursue your individual purpose. A
key word for your experience is TO AROUSE. You may incorporate some of the
following personality traits in your career activities: spiritedness,
self-confidence, ability to enjoy life, enthusiasm, a tendency to burn yourself
out, self-centeredness, restlessness, unrestrained desires, strong intuition,
optimism and inspiration. At best, you demonstrate traits of self-motivation,
dedication, courage and energy.
These may
not be your greatest strengths, yet they work better for you in the work
environment, they help you to achieve greater career success and fame, and they
may even be essential for financial remuneration. For some people, the things
that work where vocation is concerned are very different from what work in
relationships or other areas of life.
Your Most Likely Mode of Expression
You are able
to figure out the nuts and bolts of situations, and then turn them to your
advantage through practical effort. Not afraid of physical challenges, you also
appreciate the creature comforts that success brings. You are well-prepared to
handle the day to day operations of a business. You are the type who may have
built sand castles as a child, and ends up designing homes, bridges, high rises
and other structures as an adult. You are able to visualize the results of your
concrete labors.
Your
balanced approach to activities is very helpful in the work situation, as you
are able to take charge when the time is right, or work through the details of
the daily grind, or engage in imaginative brain-storming about future projects.
You are generally flexible enough to work well with others, and to encourage
them to produce their best. This will make you a good manager or supervisor.
How You Work Best
Each of us
has to work within the framework of our personal traits and habits. Life is not
so much about changing those habits as it is about choosing to emphasize one set
of behaviors over another. Through this process character is revealed. If we
changed our behaviors all the time, we would never settle into the strength of
character that we need. Generally, when we desire to change ourselves, we aim to
change how we understand and work with our inner being, how we can come to
accept that being. This section of the report considers how you operate in the
world, and thus how you tend to function in the work environment.
Your Strongest Psychological Tendency
The Sun is
indicative of your primary psychological type. Psychology and astrology both
suggest that each individual has a basic style in interacting with the world.
The Sun sign indicates the more conscious portion of your style. Individuals do
not necessarily conform to this in their outer expression, but it nevertheless
is consistent with the underlying approach to life. With the Sun in Scorpio, you
are primarily the Feeling type.
If the
sensation types say, "Just the facts, maam," the feeling types say,
"and how does it feel when that happens?" Feeling types evaluate
situations on the basis of sentiment and may disregard logical processes as
ineffective with others and unsatisfying to themselves. They can think
logically, but may choose not to unless pressed by circumstances.
You are not
an emotional disaster area. Rather you are prone to making judgments about
things, as in "I feel that is the best way to go." In order to
maintain the capacity for fair judgment, it is important to remove or reduce any
psychological pollution in the work place caused by unkind, unsympathetic
gossip, threatening behavior on the part of co-workers, or idle complaining that
is not backed by constructive suggestions.
You can do
well in careers that call for sensitivity in relating to other people. You have
the ability to bridge the gap between people, and therefore make good
counselors, sales people, heads of families, members of the clergy - any job
where interpersonal relationships are at the core of productive work.
You have a
psychic connection to the people and things around you. Often you can "get
the point" before other people even state it. You can over-react, but
generally return to an acceptable level quickly.
Your Unconscious Interactive Style
The Moon
indicates the less conscious component of your interactive style. It shows what
skills and talents can be brought to bear when your usual approach is not
effective, and as such it indicates your own internal support system. With the
Moon in Leo, your secondary function is the Intuitive type.
Intuitive
types listen to their unconscious sources of information, eschewing normal
perception. In fact, they are often largely unaware of what is around them in
the material world. These people are the inventors, the artists, the forward
thinkers because they can see the possibilities of an idea, often before the
means of developing it are apparent. Therefore they pursue what they know the
world is not yet prepared for. Intuitives jump to conclusions, yes, but not
necessarily without the intermediate steps. They either go through those steps
at light speed by sizing up an underlying principle or simply recognize an
inevitable match of an idea's potential with their own desires.
You fit into
the educational system rather well, as many high school and college courses make
use of the deductive skills intuitives share with the thinking type. You may
respond well to the timed testing that is prevalent today. You can master the
complexities of mathematics because you can grasp the results without having to
ground your learning in some physical way.
Intuitives
contribute through their inventiveness. You are generally willing to sacrifice
the pleasure of the moment in the hope of greater future achievement.
You are also restless and crave inspiration. Because you thrive in
situations where getting to the answer is important, you are good at
problem-solving and tasks that require ingenuity. Careers in the creative arts,
religious inspiration and scientific discovery all suit the intuitive type. You
can become an inspired leader or promoter. For you the game is more important
than winning, the chase more interesting than the end result.
What You Show the World and What You Know About
Yourself
If you are
aware of how other people see you, you have a distinct career advantage. Such
awareness provides a tremendous opportunity to present yourself in the best
light possible. You may have a rather different persona in the work place than
you have anywhere else because different traits are expected by your co-workers.
You therefore can choose to display those personality characteristics that suit
your work situation the best.
Your natural
direction where individuality is concerned is to proceed on a reserved, somewhat
emotional basis. You tend to judge situations well, but may be less than tactful
in stating your opinions. You are able to go with the flow if it is not too far
from your own opinion of the proper direction.
Your
naturally impulsive nature may have led you to rash action more than once,
usually not a helpful tendency where career is concerned. At the same time you
have intuitive abilities and creative talents that guide your impulses, so that
what at first seems ill-advised often turns out well. You like change.
Your
personality naturally tends to exhibit a caring, sympathetic attitude toward
others. You may tend to be reserved, even shy, and certainly sensitive to the
feelings of others and yourself. You can make decisions in the clinches. There
is a tendency to depend on others - you may need to stand on your own merits
more in the work place.
The
qualities you most easily recognize in yourself are the capacity to apply
personal effort in your work and the ambitious pursuit of the goals you set for
yourself. You recognize your optimism a personal strength. You also recognize
your capacity for rashness and the occasional inability to let go of an idea
that has lost its usefulness. You know that you respond effectively in moments
of crisis.
Sometimes it
seems that other people understand you better than you do. As you become more
self-aware through experience and self-investigation, you see the connections
between feelings, situations and events more clearly. You thus are better able
to make creative choices in response to life's slings and arrows, instead of
reacting from a less conscious drive.
Individual Strengths Being Developed at This Time
As you
travel life's path, the balance of your attention changes. These shifts allow
you to experience the world in different ways for a period of time, and thereby
to develop new skills. The periodic shifts provide what you need to gain
perspective if you are to take advantage of learning opportunities as they are
presented. These shifts may call for career changes as well.
At this time
you have the potential to grow through developing an inspired sense of purpose.
Your self-confidence will grow during this period and you will experience an
increased enthusiasm for your work.
For the next
few months, your thought processes are stimulated. You are able to learn to
apply logic to whatever situation you encounter, and you take a somewhat
businesslike attitude to everything in your life.
During the
current period you have more feelings of security and practicality. There is a
reserve, even caution, in your career decisions. You tend to be thorough in your
work. Purposefulness shows in your actions. Egotism and a desire for pleasure
can sometimes interfere with otherwise sound work practices.
The
qualities you stand to gain at this time include the ability to preserve what
you have gained, the persistence in achieving worthwhile results, and your
concern with security. You are generally tolerant of others but can become
distrustful if they give you reason. You know that you can see past
imperfections in others. You know you resist letting go of material things and
that this can prevent you from forward movement. You understand your desires
better than most people.
How You Relate to the World in General
Many factors
add up to the sum total of your presence in the world. Some character traits are
quite stable, changing very little throughout your life. They are the "mind
set" with which you approach all your activities and as such have a strong
impact on your career. This section of your report considers how these
persistent qualities affect you in your career endeavors.
Psychologists
use the terms introversion and extraversion to describe two general ways of
approaching the world. These tendencies are rather obvious to others, yet you
may not recognize them in yourself.
In
psychological terms, as an introvert you judge the world in terms of what events
mean for you and you are not as responsive to others as the extravert. Life's
activities tend to be measured on an internal, personally unique basis. In
introversion one's thoughts refer more to the self, to what is within the
individual. You seek to understand what life offers before you jump into it. If
there is a real world for you, it is the inner world of ideas and subjective
understanding. You tend to insulate yourself against the outer world in favor of
the inner life.
Another pair
of differences fall on a continuum between very self-directed and self-motivated
to more responsive or reactive to other people and outside forces.
You live in
a world of balanced considerations between what you desire to accomplish for
yourself and how you respond to the needs and desires of others. You exercise
the initiative when that seems appropriate. At other times you go along with the
plan, even though it is not your plan. Cooperative efforts appeal to you, but
you are equally able to take independent action. This combination of strengths
is beneficial in the career world, as you can roll with the punches, working
alone or with others, without discomfort either way.
These two
tendencies combine to produce a personal approach to the world.
You tend to
focus your attention on the self and persona (what you show to the world), your
possessions (financial worth) and feelings (self-worth), and how you express
yourself to others and learn about your immediate environment. This is the area
of life over which you have the greatest potential control, as you are the only
one who even knows the true content of yourself. You are also the one who
decides how to act toward others, and you are the source of your own personal
motivation to learn and to communicate.
A third
consideration is how your mind functions. How you assimilate information and
then put that information to use in the outer world can have a huge impact on
your career success. It influences not only the career choice itself, but also
the area you choose within the career.
You are an
eager beaver type, a person who is always into the next activity ahead of
everyone else. Yet you need someone to precede you, to wave your flag, so to
speak. You sometimes feel as though you have arrived at your destination before
you sent the telegram saying you were coming. The slower pace of communication
helps you to moderate your thinking.
Summary
Thus far
this report has revealed traits of your personality which you may be more or
less familiar with. Most people identify with one or more parts of their
personality. You may not see yourself exactly as described here, and you
certainly will want to consider the qualities that are entering your awareness
now, as they are the fuel for future personality developments, and possibly for
career advancement as well.
Your Vocational
Indicators
Each of us
has a natural inclination to function a particular way, and these tendencies
become pronounced in vocational activities. We carry our personal desires across
a personal boundary into the social milieu and find greater or lesser resistance
to our desires there. Yet we may stubbornly press on, attempting to bend the
world to our personal desires. We tend to hold on to the old form, even if it no
longer serves us. "Better the devil you know" is itself a timeworn
maxim.
If, instead
of insisting, we learn from social feedback and adapt our approach to the world,
we find that life is gentler and career more satisfying. Your personal emotional
bias, how you concentrate your talents, and how you best learn from experience
all impact vocation in spite of any desires to the contrary. There are several
fundamental qualities that bear on vocation, and the following paragraphs
consider these factors.
The focus is
on your obstinacy. You will do better in a career where personal responsibility
and authority are maximized. Working
for someone else can aggravate the tendency to demand your own way, while
working for yourself, or at least in an area where you direct your own
activities, is desired. You have the ability to concentrate on your research
abilities and emotional endurance to see you through the long haul. Keep this in
mind in every area of life, not just vocation. You learn through diligent,
serious application of effort.
There is one
area of life where your hard work will achieve the best results. Because of
this, you may be steered in a direction that you cannot easily perceive from
within the confines of past experience. You need to look beyond past experience
and desires into the larger context of your life to find the best place for your
efforts. Most people expect a career to provide status, money, and other
satisfactions. The type of work indicated here may seem odd, but deserves
consideration nonetheless, as it may deliver long term rewards that you cannot
perceive at the outset.
The personal
assets you need to develop for career success are a philosophical and logical
education, either through college or other continuing education. Begin with a
job that requires mental accuracy - work of an intellectual or logical nature.
Later your quick wits can be brought into the picture. After strong basic
training and education, you will thrive in a business or profession that demands
your quick perception. You are not a natural executive and may want to avoid
such positions until later in your career, as you need to produce in your own
right.
Current Direction
You have
been meeting the world on its terms and now it is time to meet the world on your
terms. Now you need to take up your own internal challenge to make the highest
possible productive mark. You will realign your thinking with the drive of your
inner daemon.
You may also
consider the area of your life in which these impulses can best be applied, and
the focus that will gain the most positive results.
You are
approaching the ending of a cycle in which you have learned about yourself,
extended yourself into family and personal activities, worked with others, and
refined your associations. You now have the opportunity to evaluate your
personal progress with an intention of inspiring the next cycle. You may feel
that fate is limiting your movement. Use this time to inspire yourself and to
let go of negative desires of any kind.
Your
instinctive responses are fully available at this time. You establish your
security by focusing your emotions so they do not carry you away. You may be
emotionally sensitive during this time, but learning to control your responses
is the key to establishing personal boundaries and choosing the focus of your
mission.
All of these
considerations come together into a package of skills, decisions, and goals
combined with your current potential. The sum total is a description of your
ability to learn from experience. If you are well placed in a career field,
emotionally suited to the demands of the actual job, and oriented clearly to
your goals, you will be successful.
How to Apply Your Energy to the Career
Having
looked at how a solid foundation may be established, we now turn to the
application of your personal energy to the goal of fulfilling your dreams. The
previous paragraphs suggest the most natural form or structure of your career,
while the following shows how you pursue it. How do you apply yourself? What
drives you? How far can you go? These questions are all answered by your
personal energy and how it can work with your natural abilities.
Early on you
may be critical, even though you barely know what you are talking about. You can
also be irritable for no apparent reason, and somewhat nervous. As you gain
experience, these seeming limitations develop into job skills. You organize your
work environment neatly and efficiently. You develop work methods and skills
which allow you to be on top of every situation. You learn from your nervousness
how to adapt to situations before they cause you discomfort. Your skills take
you in the direction of detailed work or scientific investigation (even if your
field is not science).
Your drive
to succeed cannot help but result in significant accomplishments of some kind.
You can over-estimate what you can do on your own, and may need to develop a
team to work with closely. You are very logical and methodical in your work and
demand that of coworkers. Independence is part and parcel of success for you.
You can be very focused, and rarely leave a project uncompleted.
The career
can flourish through the cooperative efforts of energy and structure, as
conditions exists which make this path easy for you to follow. On the one hand,
the structure of the best career path is enhanced by the application of energy
while on the other hand, your energy is easily directed to fill the requirements
of the career's structure. In this way the detrimental and stressful tendencies
toward harmful action or weakness are decreased, while your energy is skillfully
applied in the most fruitful direction.
Early in
life energy almost seems to use you, as you have little control over desires.
Throughout your life you learn to moderate desires of the moment with longer
term plans, and you adapt to the environment of parental control, school
requirements, peer pressure, marriage or relationship responsibilities, etc.
Energy becomes, instead of its own director, an agent for your use, being guided
by your will. You may find your will power and determination change in their
expression earlier or later in your career, depending on your personal
developmental path and how you respond to life. Some uses may seem out of reach
in youth and commonplace in middle age, or vice versa.
It is
helpful to think of career success separate from the money earned, as success is
not limited to material gain. A person could be held in very high esteem in his
career field and not be the biggest success in the money department. Also, the
slice of the career pie will often determine the earning potential. Of the three
factors involved in vocation (career, money and work environment), the career
itself has the most public impact. Here is where reputation is built, here is
where one gains authority in one's field, and here is where ambition can be
fulfilled.
The focus is
on you and your aims in life. Ambition, confidence and optimism combine to make
you a potentially strong leader, and conversely, a not so successful follower.
However, here as elsewhere, this one consideration cannot be used to assess the
total career package, or the whole person. Career fields suited to you include
adventurer, butcher, hat maker, diamond cutter or dealer, metallurgical
engineering, fire man, hair dresser, iron worker, military, metal worker,
optometry, service station owner or attendant, physical therapy, thermodynamics
and welder.
You may find
that at some point you undertake a second, rather different career that has the
following characteristics:
You are
persistent and have great endurance. There is a slow but sure evolution toward
security and at the same time a development of tolerance for others. You can be
entrusted with projects that require steady attention to bring them to fruition.
This person can be happy as an employee only when your personality is
given elbow room. Career fields suited to you include actors, art dealers,
artists, banking, cabinet maker, cashier, commercial artist, confectioner,
dancer, finance, geology, money lending, music, psychometry, sculpture, singer
and surveyor.
For most
people there is one area of the life, not necessarily associated with work, that
influences the career strongly. There may be skills developed there that can be
directly applied to the career. Also, it may influence the choices you make in
where and how to pursue your career.
You find
career mentors in your immediate work environment who can be most helpful in
your advancement path. You grasp the changes in your career field easily and are
able to follow them.
Your career
is a function of the work environment. For example, if you are a physician
working in a large metropolitan area, you are connected closely with a hospital
and probably know the staff well. If you live in an isolated area, you still
practice medicine, but the environment may include an office, patients' homes,
or other out of the way locations where your services are needed.
You are
ambitious. That said, your usually cautious nature can keep you from becoming
overly materialistic in your career. Self-control may be the key to maximum
success.
You can
develop a sense of how significant career is to your life in general, and also
what factors affect the progress of your career, by considering how you become
more aware in general, how you interact with the people and events around you,
and how these responses affect your work.
You have a
direct connection between your ego-consciousness and your soul. The emphasis on
inner spiritual meaning and values becomes a catalyst for self-understanding.
The focus is less on individual expression and more on a flexible life path
which asserts the desire to nurture others in terms of what you know about
yourself. This flexibility does not encourage a focused approach; rather it
allows for diffuse interests based upon deeply rooted spiritual values. Your
natural ability is to allow pre-conscious or unconscious motives to emerge into
awareness; these motives are part of what you can learn about yourself.
The connection between who you are and what you know about yourself is
indirect, coming through the influence of others.
The easiest path to self-awareness for you is not through thinking, so
you tend toward a career that focuses on other strengths. You are capable of a
profound awareness that all concrete knowledge is rooted in the love principle.
The close connection between beauty and ego-consciousness allows expression to
embody harmony and balance in concrete form. This can include plastic arts,
writing, and any activity whose aim is to achieve a higher level of harmony in
the physical world as well as in interpersonal and social relations.
You find yourself acting without self-examination, and this is not always
the best plan. You work best in situations where considerable training is
involved, so that your actions become second nature. You are interested in
expansion, optimism and religious or spiritual interests.
Your thinking emphasizes the nobler facets of human expression as a
result of consciousness. The urge to expand is joined with self-awareness to
produce direction and optimism. This combination often signals success
throughout life because the higher, more comprehensive awareness of cosmic law
is so closely linked to ego-consciousness. It is as though the two are one
expression for you. The desire to accomplish something important can be a
powerful motivation, and leads to self-awareness.
You cannot understand the structure of your career path directly, as most
people do. You have greater success when you allow the career to develop without
pushing. Apply yourself to the task at hand and let the chips fall as they will.
You have an instinctual understanding of the balance of the people and
circumstances around you. You won't have a conscious awareness of this, but it
will be there, so trust it. Whatever
psychic awareness you bring to your career is a felt thing, not the result of
thought. You may find that your thought processes are sometimes inconsistent and
self-awareness depends on listening to your "gut".
Power is often outside your conscious control. You find it is governed by
unconscious drives for the most part. You develop a disciplined will through
other channels.
Astrology
can help you to become more aware of desirable changes in career. It can also
offer insight into any feelings of unrest or anxiety associated with career. The
following provides information about the recent past career influences and then
discusses current conditions and future trends.
Recent Influences
Feeling and
the soul's direction. You may find yourself becoming aware of karmic connections
during this time. Your soul's direction is subject to conscious guidance and
thus greater emotional awareness is also possible. Change is almost a certainty
in career as well as other areas of your life. A decided lack of
ego-consciousness. There can be an opening to larger mystical and intuitive
understanding which is indeed not grounded in personal ego, but rather is
indicative of awareness which transcends the present. These unusual mental
states include indecision, self-deception, wrong ideas, and aimlessness, as well
as the more constructive altered states. There can also be supernatural or
psychic awareness's which emerge.
Current and Future Trends for the Coming Year
You love a
good discussion right now. Try not to turn it into an argument. Also try to
think before you act. During this period you should take extra care in all your
activities involving machinery, sharp things, and speech.
Your Best Work
Environment
Where the
work environment and the securing of employment are concerned, astrology offers
many useful insights. It also deals with the actual work that is undertaken. It
can reveal how you react to work, to your work associates and to the work
environment itself. Regardless of the actual title you hold, the place where you
do the work and the people around you make a tremendous difference in the
attitudes you develop in the work place. You can learn effective tools for
obtaining the job as well.
The best
work environments for you include dignified offices, churches, courts, banks,
large institutions, universities, high ground, estates, large sites, upstairs
rooms, place to store ammunition, southeast rooms or walls. Geographic locations
which may be suited to your work include Alabama, Arabia, Australia, Bolivia,
Chile, Czechoslovakia, Delaware, Hungary, Illinois, Madagascar, Mississippi, New
Jersey, Ohio, Pakistan, Singapore, Spain, Toledo, Toronto, or Yugoslavia.
You may work
in more than one type of environment or change jobs in order to move to a work
environment described as follows:
The best
work environments for you include hard to reach places, places where hard labor
is performed, abandoned places, slums, deserts, barren fields, mines, mountain
peaks, storage buildings or rooms, corners near the ground or floor, south walls
or rooms. Geographic locations which may be suited to your work include
Antarctic ocean, Bulgaria, Connecticut, Georgia, India, Iowa, Lithuania,
Macedonia, Mexico, New Mexico, Texas, or Utah.
The types of
people you work with most successfully may not be the sort of people you would
choose for friends or romantic partners. Understanding how to identify
compatible co-workers can have a direct effect on career success or failure.
Your energy
is generally used for methodical activity. You have the capacity to organize
your work and play activities carefully. You give attention to matters of health
and diet, sometimes through necessity but more often through your focused
interest in the general condition of your body/mind. You enjoy an independent
role in the work environment and are generally able to work well alone.
Your work
companions are the driving force of action in the work environment.
Constantly looking for a new venture, they dive into new projects and
demonstrate their enthusiasm at every turn. They are impulsive and need the
balance of someone who is more cautious, or at least more grounded. They enjoy
working independently and are self-reliant. Their fearless attitude in the face
of change can seem rash or even destructive. Above all, they are determined to
succeed in their own right and not at the expense of others.
There is one
area of your life that may be closely involved in your work. It shows where your
actual work energy will be concentrated, as well as what outside factors can
affect your work performance. Your work depends to a certain extent on these
factors that would otherwise be outside the work environment.
Your work
benefits from discriminating awareness of new situations and people. You don't
have to be overly critical - it is better to encourage an attentive attitude
than to stimulate arguments.
The majority
of your income will come from your actual work, or the fruits of that work. You
will also find that your self-esteem is tied into your work environment, and you
need to be clear about factors in the work environment over which you have no
control, as you don't want them to affect your self-image adversely.
Other Factors Affecting Your Choice of Work
Environment
As you
develop a sense of how significant your work environment is to your life in
general, and also what factors affect your work performance, you regain the
power to select suitable work.
You form
relationships with successful women which are beneficial to you. You need to
control expansive gestures to avoid wastefulness. You tend to fall into lucky
circumstances; you also tend to spend very freely.
Blessed with good health and generally destined for success, you gain
recognition without effort and accomplish much if you can avoid extravagance.
Fortunate decisions place you in beneficial circumstances. You find
yourself in the position to resolve disagreements. It is easy to expand into new
relationships.
Impulsive
actions reflect the energy in your life. You tend to begin projects with
tremendous energy. You find it easy to mobilize your energy when you are
interested in a subject. Think things through before you act.
You use your powerful mind to help you through difficult transitions in
your life. A tendency toward rash action can create unnecessary tensions. You
can use inner tension to guide the direction of persuasive arguments.
You experience harmful energy from time to time, yet your endurance gets
you through it. You are more effective when you throw your energy into tasks
without also throwing your ego along with it.
You will make remarkable achievements during your life, but there is a
price. You need to take care to avoid accident or injury because of
carelessness. You are brutally truthful and sometimes intolerant of others.
At certain
times in your life changes in the work environment affect your career. You may
change how you feel about your work and your coworkers. During some periods it
is more difficult to be hired, or even to find a suitable place to work, while
at other times changes within the work environment are easy to achieve.

urge to act too quickly.
